On Friday, June 14th, the physical AI-robot Tengai independently conducted her first job interview with a candidate at TNG’s HQ in Stockholm. After months of programming, Swedish staffing and recruitment agency TNG is now offering Tengai Select as a recruitment solution and the first client has signed up. The Swedish municipality Upplands-Bro has decided to use the social interview robot as part of their recruitment process to objectively and fairly find a new Digital Co-ordinator.
Just one week after Tengai was launched, Swedish municipality Upplands-Bro signed up for TNG’s new recruitment solution Tengai Select. TNG developed the social AI-robot together with Furhat Robotics to assist recruiters and hiring managers with objective interview analytics to assess soft skills and personality. When the Swedish municipality wanted to recruit a new Digital Coordinator they naturally contacted TNG. And decided to use the innovative social interview robot as a part of their unbiased recruitment process.
Tengai Select gives clients a qualitative candidate selection through the robot’s blind interviews, data-driven interview analytics, and interview transcripts. Tengai Select will also contribute to heightened candidate experience, a more credible employer brand and is time and cost-efficient. The interview robot is conducting blind interviews, where all applicants get the same competency-based questions. It will also make it possible for more candidates to be interviewed and all interviews will be transcribed.
The World’s First Robot Job Interview
Tengai conducted her first independent blind interview in an intimate interview room at TNG’s HQ in Stockholm, Sweden, at 8:30 am on June 14th.
Robot Trainer Sinisa Strbac was very satisfied with Tengai’s performance:
“Everything went according to plan and we’re excited to get started!”
TNG’s Chief Innovation Officer, Elin Öberg Mårtenzon, is also feeling positive about how the first robot interview went.
“I have worked with Tengai for several months and I know how great the product is. But it needs to be an innovative client to see the potential. So I am impressed by Upplands-Bro! They are really taking the lead by being the first in the world to use a social AI-robot in the hiring process. I am especially pleased to see the public sector as our first client. And I can’t wait to follow the development; as we move toward a recruitment process where artificial intelligence helps us be objective and fair!” – Elin Öberg Mårtenzon, Chief Innovation Officer at TNG
